Sweet Obsession: Burberry Weatherboots

Since the cold weather is beginning to hit NY, I have become slightly (ok more than slightly) obsessed with these Burberry Weatherboots…might I add that they are $295. Yeah…I know. But last year, in an effort to be frugal, I opted for these Black and White polka-dot weatherboots from the GAP outlet; needless to say…..TOTAL REGRET! After a couple of wears, I quickly lamented that purchase and felt like I looked like a fool. So this year, I want to step it up a notch and try (notice the emphasis on try) and give these Burberry Weatherboots a home in my closet. However, I need to come up with a strong talking points that will make this purchase justifiable to my boyfriend. Let’s see:

1. They will last forever...(he may not believe this one, because I’ve said it a couple of times)
2. They are a great staple piece for the Fall, Winter and Spring months, so they will get plenty of use.
3. They can be a Christmas gift to myself (I mean we all need to treat ourselves…right?)
4. Burberry makes quality products, so I know that I will have a good, quality boot that can help me brave the cold rain, snow, sleet and winds that are rapidly approaching.

I won’t mention the recession or anything, because he’s a little more practical with his money and he will shoot me down in a heartbeat. Maybe I should rethink buying them or maybe I’ll just sneak them in when he’s not home.

Common = Soulwear = Great look for Microsoft

The always stylish Common has teamed up with Microsoft to launch a t-shirt line called Softwear. The t-shirts are 80s-inspired and geared toward hipsters, hip hop heads and trendsetters, I love it. And seeing as though I’m an 80s baby myself…I can dig it. The Softwear tees will be available late December and will go for about $32 each. Check out http://www.softwearbymicrosoft.com./ How cute is that ‘I used to love her’ tee? This would be a cute stocking stuffer or gift for that trendsetter boyfriend, brother, cousin, friend…whatever. Microsoft is really trying to up their “cool factor” and I have no words for Common…he’s just too attractive.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

So I’m in full Christmas mode, it’s crunch time! I do this every year and I hate myself for it. I always strive to give fabulous gifts, but ummm I tend to indulge on items for myself before checking off the items on my Christmas List. So this year, in an effort to steer clear of the crazy lines, useless tug of wars over the last 39.99 lambswool crewneck sweater at JCrew or hopeless searches through the scraps of the sale section (yes…sale..we are in a recession), I decided to do a majority of my shopping online. Going green my people…well at least I think I am. Well, while doing my online shopping, I’ve developed a fabulous friend…..retailmenot.com. It’s an absolutely divine online shopping companion, you know how you always have that one friend you go shopping with? Well retailmenot.com has become Tiffany’s replacement (sorry Tiff), the website offers exclusive online promotions codes, that will save you a couple of pennies. Check it out! I absolutely LOVE it.

Really Madonna?

So I'm going to skip all of the talk about me ignoring my baby and get straight to the point. Madonna...Louis Vuitton...FEROSH!! Madonna is out here putting all us young gals (that's right I said gals) to shame!! I couldn't help but clutch my invisible pearls and gasp when I saw Madge's LV Spring '09 Ads on fashionista.com. I mean damn. Really Madonna? Really? She is looking all kinds of fabulousness and fierceness, she get's 2 Rupaul snaps for these ads. Sigh...these ads right here, just let me know that I need to work a little bit harder in my spin classes. Damn you Madonna. Gotta love her. Oh yes and I am sideyeing those bags....
