Times are hard these days, and it’s a bit scary. I was hit with a harsh reality yesterday when it was announced that Macy’s would be closing 11 of its stores…what the hell is going on in America? Macys?!!! I know holiday sales were not up to par this season, but C’MON…MACY’S? I went there to do a little shopping before Christmas and they had Sean John Jeans for like $12 and Ralph Lauren sweaters for like $5!!! - Ok I’m lying about those prices…but nonetheless, the deals were ridiculous. Macy’s was even open 24hrs in some places, I guess shoppers weren’t coming out in the numbers that were expected. Here’s where they’ll be closing:
– Ernst & Young Plaza (Citicorp Plaza), Los Angeles
– The Citadel, Colorado Springs, Colo.
– Westminster Mall, Westminster, Colo.
– Palm Beach Mall, West Palm Beach, Fla.
– Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, Island of Hawaii
– Lafayette Square, Indianapolis (My cousin is going to be upset)
– Brookdale Center, Brooklyn Center, Minn.
– Crestwood Mall, St. Louis
– Natrona Heights Plaza, Natrona Heights, Pa.
– Century III Furniture and Clearance, West Mifflin, Pa.
– Bellevue Center, Nashville, Tenn.
Every one of these stores will have a final sale…except for Hawaii. Good luck with that folks!
