I Want In...

During my tumultuous journey to enter the fashion world, I've met some fabulous people who are taking the same walk as myself or are already in the industry. I've seen firsthand what the fashion industry can offer, and I want in. Mainly because of the shows, the traveling, the fabulous people you meet and most importantly...the sample sales and access to items that us lowly people (and I primarily mean myself) would die for. I want to be the girl who some big time editor or head honcho in the industry says "A million girls would kill for this job" to. I want to be that girl. I’m networking with the right people, but I can’t understand what is going on! Sometimes I sit and daydream at my desk about the possibilities and how sometimes I wish I was Ugly Betty (sans the melting pot of labels and patterns thrown together to make an outfit, her braces and glasses), or even Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada. I want the gay fashion editor to tell me I look a hot mess and give me a makeover (hair extensions included) and eat celery sticks for lunch. I want all that! Well….maybe not the celery sticks for lunch. But since I don’t have access to the gay fashion editor, the closets of the major magazines, or the racks of showrooms or samples sales that are only privy to “insiders”, I’ll stick with trying to make it. And folks let’s just say, one day you’ll be saying I knew that girl when she was merely a squirrel trying to get a nut in the fashion world and look at her now. But until then, I’ll use what I got to get what I want. LOL. If you’ve never seen Playas Club, you’ll have no idea what I’m talking about.
