Diane Von Furstenburg, the goddess of dresses, my friend, my icon, my homegirl...debuted her Spring Collection yesterday. This is one show I would lie, cheat or steal to attend..I love her. When she was on Project Runway last week I felt like crying like Kenley (eventhough her dress was hideous), because I absolutely adore her! Now...I'm not saying my closet is chock full of DVF ensembles, but I'm taking baby steps and "wait til I get my money riiiiight" as Kanye says, I will always step out in something DVF.
So here's a peek into DVF's Spring '09 collection, chock full of sweet, candy colored treats.
The thing about Diane is that her designs are timeless, she has been in the business for over 40 years and has not missed a beat! She still appeals to young women-whether they be socialites or fashion slaves like myself. The gypsy-esque tunic dresses, peasant blouses, smock tops and classic shift dresses were rocked out and dazzled the runways in solids and lovely prints (for which she loves) in an assortment of skittle colors. My sweet tooth is yearning for one of these dresses...matter of fact, canI have them all?
DVF has said that she "designs for the woman who loves being a woman" and this is why I love her and her clothes, because I'm a woman...W-O-M-A-N and I love it! Two snaps for DVF and her entire Spring Collection, pure beauty.
I can wait to stalk the Diane Von Furstenburg shop in the West Village this Spring...hopefully by then, I can actually make a purchase instead of frivolously trying on her dresses and delectable creations.
